How to Save a Section as a Template in Elementor and Reuse It Across Your WordPress Website

If you’re working with WordPress and Elementor, you probably know how powerful this page builder is when it comes to creating stunning websites. But did you know that you can save sections you’ve designed as templates and reuse them elsewhere on your site? This not only saves you time but also helps maintain consistency across your pages. In this blog post, we’ll walk you through the simple steps to save a section as a template and then insert that template wherever you need it.

Why Use Templates in Elementor?

Before we dive into the steps, let’s quickly talk about why you might want to save sections as templates. Elementor templates allow you to:

  • Maintain Design Consistency: By reusing templates, you ensure that your design language remains consistent throughout your site.
  • Save Time: Once you’ve created a section that works well, you can reuse it rather than recreating it from scratch each time.
  • Simplify Updates: If you need to make a change to a common section (like a contact form or a call-to-action), you can update the template once, and then replace the section across your site with the updated template.

Step 1: Design Your Section

First, create the section you want to reuse. This could be a hero section, a call-to-action, a pricing table, or any other part of your page. Use Elementor’s drag-and-drop builder to design the section exactly how you want it.

Step 2: Save the Section as a Template

Once you’re happy with your design, it’s time to save it as a template.

  1. Hover Over the Section: Move your mouse over the section you want to save. You’ll see a blue border around the section.
  2. Right-Click on the Section: Right-click on the section’s blue handle (the six dots at the top of the section). A context menu will appear.
  3. Select ‘Save as Template’: From the context menu, choose “Save as Template.” This will open a new dialog box.
  4. Name Your Template: Give your template a name that you’ll easily recognize later. Something descriptive like “Hero Section – Homepage” or “Contact CTA” will work well.
  5. Click ‘Save’: Finally, click the “Save” button. Your section is now saved as a template and can be accessed anytime.

Step 3: Insert the Template Elsewhere on Your Site

Now that you’ve saved your section as a template, inserting it on another page is a breeze.

  1. Open the Page Where You Want to Insert the Template: Go to the page (or post) where you want to add the saved section and open it in Elementor.
  2. Access the Template Library: In Elementor’s panel on the left, click the folder icon to open the Template Library.
  3. Navigate to ‘My Templates’: In the Template Library, switch to the “My Templates” tab. Here, you’ll see all the sections and pages you’ve saved as templates.
  4. Insert Your Template: Find the template you want to insert, hover over it, and click the “Insert” button. Elementor will ask you to confirm if you want to override the existing content or append the template to the current design. Choose the option that suits your needs.
  5. Customize if Needed: After inserting the template, you can customize it to fit the context of the new page. However, the base design will already be in place, saving you time and effort.

Wrapping Up

And there you have it! By following these steps, you can save any section as a template in Elementor and reuse it across your WordPress site. This method is a great way to keep your design consistent, save time, and make updating sections across multiple pages much easier. Happy designing!
